You can't rightly just "clamp down" on the company when they own our entire wireless network infrastructure.
That would be stupid.
This is a delicate situation that requires due diligence and care so as not to set the whole damn system aflame.

IIRC, the “clampdown” is them being frozen out of 5G because they are dirty as all frick, such as stealing tech.
It doesn’t shut them out of the current market but it does limit their ability to continue competing because they either need to come to heel or steal enough tech to jump to 5G. And the latter would prove everyone’s point.
