There is just one God. I believe humans have overcomplicated the matter throughout history, and we somehow ended up with different beliefs...Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, Orthodox, etc. I don't have an issue with the different beliefs...ultimately a Catholic education is better than an EBR education in my opinion. I just don't believe what Catholics believe.
I've told my kids they're more than welcome to become a Catholic once they're mature enough to really know what that means and if they feel it gets them closer to God. In my opinion, you can't understand what that really means at 7 or 5 years old. The Catholic Church can certainly grow a lot of Catholics by starting them that early, but I want my kids to really know what it means when/if they make that decision. Not just be Catholic because they go to a Catholic school, or because their friends are Catholic, or because a family member is Catholic. Replace "Catholic" with any other religion and I still feel the same way, even if it's non-denominational like Healing Place.
