The most vulnerable I ever felt was that first drive home from the hospital with my little girl. Also, dont be surprised if your wife locks herself in bathroom and cries for no reason, lots of hormones.

Yep. I felt like some kind of idiot trying to put her into the car seat correctly since I didn't want to do something wrong. I had also never changed a diaper before that day either.

As others have probably mentioned, love your child and wife unconditionally and help out all that you can. I was lucky enough that my wife let me sleep in another bedroom for the few few weeks. I would sometimes take a shift feeding at night so the wife could get a little extra sleep though.
