Not sure why no one told me this before, but there is a biological reaction that happens to the father the second he sees his first child. My knees nearly buckled from it. It just makes you love that kid more than anything in the world.
Best advice I got was: use the smallest size diapers that will still fasten. There is less in the pack as the size goes up.

Order diapers off Amazon Prime subscribe and save, saved 20 percent as long as she was in diapers
