I think it's more about not letting him play for 9-10 minutes at a time because the more tired your muscles are, the easier it is to get injured. So you play him in short 4 minute bursts so that he's never laboring on the court.

I personally would like to see about 20-25min a night, but I get the team's reasoning

This guy gets it. It is about injury prevention 1st and him gelling with the team 2nd. We may think he can go over 4 mins at a time but the medical staff set that threshold. I think (hope) it was so conservative due to it being his first game...they wanted to see if he had soreness after. With him feeling fine the next day, I hope they ramp up his minutes. Regarding starting him, we all agree it is hard to establish a rhythm. I think they know this but they are hoping to learn how the starters play together sooner rather than later. The trade deadline is rapidly approaching but our "needs" are conceptual at this point. They need to quickly determine if he and Favors can thrive together (if possible). We may end up "sacrificing" our playoff hopes but again, the goal is long term; we dont need to be short sited.
