You can’t compare KD to Zion. A strained, partially torn Achilles on a 31 year old 7 footer is completely different than a post meniscectomy 19 year old. This team has proven to be very, very poor at handling the PR around Zion’s injury.

We have been told by Griffin and Al that there would be no minutes restriction after we have watched Zion throw down hammer dunks and go through full pre game workouts for at least the last month. He was obviously on a strict, 15-16 minute limit restriction last night as that as when Gentry sent Melli to the table. This puts the team and Zion in a very uncomfortable place moving forward. There is being smart about an injury and then being overly cautious. Last night was a perfect example of being overly cautious and another poor job of handling the public relations side by the Pels.

How does this put the team in uncomfortable position? Obviously they all agreed on a plan and stuck to it. WTH are you even talking about? it's amazing cause if something would have happen to him last night then you would be the same guy on here screaming about how stupid the Pels are for rushing him back and making him play too much. Not to mention the fact that he is no where near playing shape--the Pels have been riddled with injuries throughout--I'm glad we are finally putting prevention at the forefront and thinking long term.

I was pissed about pulling him last night, but is it being overly cautious if you don't care about the outcome of a regular season game and are instead focused on the process of bringing him back slowly and in a way that prioritizes his future health, or is it just the smarter move?

I dont think you can be overly cautious with a player like Zion. He is going to be the most exciting player in the league for years. They need to focus on the future not the present with him.
