I noticed that we left a lot of open space in the middle of the field but it seems like Clemson still wanted to stick to the sides. Almost like we were daring them to go open field and they refused to take it. Am I missing something?

Because they wanted to get in Lawrence’s face. It doesn’t matter what’s open if you are in the backfield all night and you have two corners that can play man.

Weren’t we in man? I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I assume the middle was open because no one in orange was there.

You have to remember most college teams are scared of the middle of the field, except LSU this year.

They didn’t know what to do having their top 2 receivers taken out of the game in single coverage.

Then you just have guys roaming the middle of the field and spying TL, or an extra guy in run stop. Recipe for disaster for Clemson.

Did you notice if Skalski used the crown of his helmet when he made the hit that injured Burrow’s ribs? It looked like it watching the live broadcast but I haven’t seen the replay.
