Not one to run and hide, just been busy STTDB. Not really, just been a sh*t show since the game for me. SW flight canceled. Decided to drive home, got rear ended outside of Montgomery, totaled the rental.
Anyways congratulations. Hell of a game. Hell of a season. We got off to as good of a start as we could have hoped for. Joe made a few clutch throws. Y’all took the momentum and we never recovered. Simply got beat by a better team only way to put it.
Biggest play of the game to me was the PI (absolute right call) on the long 3rd down late in 2nd quarter. Had we made that stop we’d get the ball back somewhere near midfield around 2 mins maybe score get in to half only down 1 or possibly up 3 game has different feel. As it turns out Burrow leads y’all 95 yards for the TD which pretty much felt like the dagger.
I’m sure it’s been discussed and not that it would have made a difference but that had to be the worst officiating I’ve ever seen. For both teams. PAC12 shouldn’t be allowed to officiate these games just don’t think they’re use to seeing the caliber of athlete. Had it been a closer game it would have been a major talking point bc they were just flat out bad.
New Orleans was awesome. Yes bourbon was disgusting but talk about a good time. Place is like a different world. I had nothing but great interactions with LSU fans all weekend. Looking forward to visiting BR in about 5ish years I think. Only gripe I have is the homeless people and how they’d badger the shite out of you. Reminded me of San Fran or Portland. Other than that one of my favorite cities I’ve visited. You have to really try to not enjoy yourself in New Orleans.
I’m out of here for now. Think y’all got SC next year will prob be back to make fun of those dirt peckers. Until then cheers. Congrats.

Sorry about all the bad luck you had, but glad you had a great time.

You played the greatest team ever....hold your head up. Nobody was beating Burrow.

Here’s to being a good sport. Sometimes you are the windshield and sometimes you are the bug. Sorry you had such a tough time getting home, that sucks. Good luck next year.

Hell of a post. Thank you.

Yup. Me and my dad said same thing. Could have taken the first team all American defense and you weren’t stopping that Offense on that night.

Ya'll have a great shot to do it again next year. Good luck to ya'll

Glad you're OK. My wife says nothing good ever happens in Montgomery.
Thanks for the congrats. You guys will back again next year.
We, on the other hand, have a lot to replace.

Not a bad rebuilding year when you still get to the championship game. With Lawerence and Etienne we know you will be back in the playoffs again next year.

Thanks so much Clempson. best wishes to you and your team as I've seen you all already ranked number 1 for next year and I would put you all as the favorites to win it all once again.

And for the record, Venables did slow us down longer than anyone else had this season. It usually takes no more than two series for the LSU offense to get a handle on what the defense was doing, took about 4 series. The avalanche started after that, but Venables had the OL confused and the blitzes got to Burrow before he could find an outlet. You scalawags forced too many incompletions (a few drops, but also many incompletions were just good coverage) and Burrow lost the single season completion percentage mark. Before Clemson, Burrow had completed 72% or better in every game.

I hope no one was seriously hurt! Other than being a die hard purple and gold tiger fan, I will pull for the orange tigers, especially against bama.

quote:indeed. same here. back at 'ya.
just been busy STTDB
quote:eh, we see worse in our SEC schedule. It wasn't as bad as I expected honestly. They let alot of holding (and OL takedowns) go, for both, but that seems to be NCAA wide this year; we've noticed all year long. Let the WRs and DBs get real handsy... but again, nothing new. That was supposed to have helped y'all with your WRs size. That was supposed to be an advantage for Clemson. But when you're QB can't put it in the catch radius and your tall but too skinny WRs just don't seem like they want to be touched, or get physical, it was anything but an advantage.
but that had to be the worst officiating I’ve ever seen. For both teams.
quote:I'm still suprised they used PAC12, and especially this crew with ump and ref. They've had documented issues in recent years. The PAC 12 refs are mostly known for being wildly inconsistent with targeting calls. So much Oregon, Standford, Wash, etc. all see a bias to USC.
For both teams. PAC12 shouldn’t be allowed to officiate these games just don’t think they’re use to seeing the caliber of athlete

Yea as weird as it sounds since we gave up 600 yards and 42 points, and could have been more if y’all weren’t ready to celebrate and run out the clock. Don’t really blame the defense. Had you told me before the game we’d hold y’all to 8 punts and 4-14 on 3rd down I would have thought we’d won.
But when we go 1-11 on 3rd and can’t sustain drives really have no chance giving y’all O that many opportunities. This is the first game in a really long time I don’t think our coaches gave us the best chance to win. Trevor was off for whatever reason but we kept forcing it. Should have tried to slow the game down after going up 17-7 and run the ball. Our O could have been our best D.
Once y’all got on a roll it was a complete mismatch yalls O vs our D.

Oh yea. I was throwing beads at half naked women until the sun came up. Then right back down there around noon for brunch.
