This is the answer, but most business owners refuse to acknowledge it, even when business is going tremendously well.

A good analogy is to look at the fast food industry .. the places that are considered the ‘ultimate’ in fast food experience, are Chick Fil A and In n Out burger.. i’m not trying to start a debate about which burger you like best or whatever, but i’ve lived all over the country, and those two places consistently have lines around the block, even at off peak times.. they are known for doing one item, and being the best at it.. but moreso, they are known for their tremendous customer service,. Why? While every other fast food place starts their workers at $8 or $9 an hour, In N Out and CFA start at $12 or $13 an hour, even more in some parts of the country- and managers make well into six figures... A difference of $3 or $4 per hour is a big deal to someone at that level, just like a salary increase of $30k or $40k per year is a big deal to most of us here who work in sales, or at a plant, or in an office... These lessons are applicable to all businesses.

I haven’t been to an In n Out in 15 years, but doesn’t Chick Fil A have small portion sizes?

I’m just saying that something has to give.
