In Tolkien’s work, and especially in The Silmarillion, men were mostly referred to collectively as Men without reference to their race. However, in LotR it was at least implied, if not openly stated, that the men from the South who fought with Sauron were black, so other races beyond white do exist in that world. I have no problem with them casting blacks or whoever else in this show as long as they do it in a way that makes sense. A multicultural Numenor would not jive with the source material, for instance.

People traveled between Numenor and Middle Earth for 2700 years.

You are correct! Most people, and clearly anyone that down votes you, haven't read the source material and have only watched the movies. There are people commenting in this thread talking about Hobbits LOL!! Show is base on Second Age, no Hobbits. So they have no idea what they are talking about, but they are experts on what the actors should look like.

Now if they wanna talk to me about how Netflix screwed up casting choices for the Witcher we can have that discussion.
