Was it not Alleva who hired Orgeron to the anger and insults of many / most LSU fans? He started this regime. Let’s stop bashing the man. He loves LSU, still works for LSU and needs our support for his current position.

Seems to love his reputation more than LSU.
I do give him credit for hiring best fit/available in Orgeron and Wade - Hindsight shows he did a pretty good job of hiring, but his public relations and his ability to handle other men with big egos, shows he wasn't a great or even good leader, but more of a talent scout and someone who would cave to popular opinion/political pressure.
His handling of the Florida game/hurricane and the Will Wade "Damn strong offer" situation were both atrocious.
I don't hate Alleva, but I think he should definitely show some humility and let things go without trying to make a comment to save face.

Actually Les Miles hired Orgeron.
Alleva promoted him because his head coaching search was a disaster, he got frustrated, and created a reason to gamble on O.
Thankfully O was ready, but I’m under no illusion that Alleva is a great judge of coaches.

Alleva did here what he did at Duke. twice.
Took the cheap and lazy way out by promoting the interim.
He got extremely luck that this one worked out.
He does not get credit for this.
His track record for hiring coaches is absolutely abysmal.
