I was looking at his stats from last year and this year and if you put his 2019 stats to be the same as 2018 it comes out almost identical. Raising his passing attempts proportionally from 378 to his 2018 number of 489 it comes out like this: Attempts 2018(489) 2019(489) completions for both seasons would be 364. TD passes would come out as 32 in 2018 and 35 in 2019. Interceptions would be 5 for both seasons. Total yards would be 3992 in 2018 and 3854 in 2019. Even his sacks would be similar-17 in 2018 and 16 this year with the same amount of passing attempts as last year. I thought he was fantastic last year and it turns out he was just as brilliant this season.

The biggest difference is Brees is hot now. In 2018 he was hot in the middle of the season and had cooled off by the playoffs.

But look at his December stats in both seasons. He was merely average in december last season but player of the month this december.

Likely because of that injury suffered in the Atlanta game

His arm was worn out come playoff time last season. Missing 5 games this year has kept his batteries charged a little longer and he’s very sharp right now

Yeah he kinda fell off a cliff last year for the final act of the regular season. If it wasn’t an injury in the ATL game, SOMETHING was nagging him like in 2010. I have no doubt whatever it was he worked on like crazy over the offseason.

Dude has a legit 2 more seasons if he wants to play. I’d even venture to give him more than that but things can drop off pretty quick at this point. We HAVE to get him a few more targets to make his life easier as he rides off.
