My opinion is that you will never be able to overcome the tide flowing through the locks. You could possibly portage over the levee but I don’t know if you can climb over the concrete wall. I fished there yesterday on a falling tide and I couldn’t get through the lock with less than half throttle in my bay boat. I have caught trout on the backside of the “Great Wall” so there is that option. Then you would only need to walk over the levee at the first lock on bayou bienvenue.

Yeah if I go to hopedale I can portage around the damn I think. But pretty sure that is not the case in Chalmette. I thought about guerilla launching at the Michoud canal, but on google earth couldn't really find a good spot.
