Shreveport Mayor: Adrian Perkins

I just saw this clown on ESPN encouraging tourism and promoting Shreveport.
I just want to remind people that this clown refused to provide emergency workers and security for a sitting President back in November. To say this was irresponsible and embarrassing for Shreveport doesn’t do it justice. Honestly never heard of something like this? Protecting our highest level elected officials and diplomats is an sacred and understood bipartisan agreement. Pathetic, I know Rep Mike Johnson called him multiple times to reconsider his decision.

His first act was to change the city insurance policy that in effect doubled or tripled premiums for 1/10th the coverage
His buddy got a 250k commission though

The only way I’d go to Shreveport for tourism, is if they opened a gladiatorial arena and pitted lifers against each other for the prize of more commissary.

Meh! No one really sees Shreveport as a tourist destination. I mean do you think people from Chicago or New York actually want to go to Shreveport?
If you're from East Texas or Winn Parish I can see Shreveport being a big deal.

To answer your question: no.
The mayor talked shite about not providing services to help with the President's visit. He got some blowback, so he started crawfishing. Then, he released a letter saying that some irrelevant laws made it illegal for him to allow Shreveport assets to be used to assist with traffic, public safety, etc.
It was all bullshite. Orange Man Bad is the only reason for the decision.
Eta: He also gave some bs excuse about financial reasons. This should have been the only bs reason offered, bc nobody can reasonably bitch about a mayor saying that his city couldn't afford to offer assets to other jurisdictions.

My understanding is that when he "reshaped" the city's insurance coverage, the worst result wasn't his buddy getting a big commission: it was the fact that city property was woefully underinsured, greatly increasing liability.

I was told by liberals that he’s going to make Shreveport the next Austin

Keep your eye on this him. Liberals are going to hype this dude like Obama but in reality he's a POS just like every other democrat in this state

He’ll be a factor for LA Dems going forward. He’s young, black, highly educated, plus the D legislative roster in LA is abysmal. Probably the worst crop of D’s in state history. JBE is their only shining star.

That was utterly pathetic. Even if you knew nothing about Shreveport, who in the frick thought that ad would attract tourists to ANYWHERE? The total lack of self awareness is astounding. Most Louisiana residents are clearly not mentally qualified to vote.

Perkins is the one they put in place to milk as much cash into the hands of his handlers via the Cross Bayou scam as possible. The plan is to get many millions of dollars worth of taxpayer dollars and assets into his buddies hands then declare bankruptcy. Shreveport can't dig itself out of the hole it's in. The tax paying population is hopping the state line into east Texas and hopping across the moat into Bossier. Shreveport is 100% doomed. Bossier on the other hand is growing rapidly and increasing it's tax base both north and south. They'll never move back to Shreveport. Soon enough the only reason they go there, to go to work, will move as well.

Now compare that to the POS mayor.
No need for you to be offended. It's not like Democrats are real people.
