Dude. Go to the central portion of the country. Hard pass bro. At one point in our trip if something happened, I realized I was likely going to be dead because there were no healthcare resources. They had chickens running in and out of their houses.

I will never go back. Regardless of how tempting the beaches are. And they’re supposed to be the most stable and advanced LA country.

Wait...are you under the mistaken impression that I hung out inside my gated neighborhood the entire time?

We fished our asses off half a hundy miles into the Pacific. We drove up into the mountains an hour back in from the coast and hiked up into the mountains and rafted our way back down through Class 4’s per our guide. We ate lunch at a Barry Seal tribute plane lodged in the side of a mountain with a bar built in it. We visited off grid beaches that had 3 people-and one raccoon-on it the entire time we were there.

Yes, we saw chickens and other animals all over the damn place.

That’s because it’s-literally-a third world country. Saying it’s the most advanced country in Latin America is truthful. What’s also truthful is that there are nothing but 3rd world countries in Latin America.

IE-Being the most advanced 3rd world country in Latin America is like being a Gold Medal Winner in competitive eating. Even if you win you’re still a fricking loser.

The point of my comment was that if I had to choose a country other than los Estados Unidos to live in, I would choose CR over countries in SE Asia. The point was never to express the superiority or even attempt a comparison contrast of one’s health system to another.

My preference is CR based on cost of living, proximity to Norte Americano medicine and a fairly significant expat population. Oh...and not having a massive segment of society that hates me for being an infidel based on their religious beliefs is a plus.
