Gotcha.

My dad was Airborne 173rd.

Passed away from lung cancer 8 years ago. I always miss his Vietnam stories. Always learned something new.

I served in Kilo 3/9 in 1969 as an 0311. Mostly in and around LZ Stud, Rockpile, Signal Hill, Caloo, Khe Sanh (wounded by ChiCom in June 50 years ago).

Everyday in the Nam was like an August noonday in La. A miserable place in spring and summer ... and then the monsoons in fall and winter.

Returned in 2004 and even found an old fighting hole. Place is gorgeous now but still uncomfortable and without basics such as a/c and ice. Pretty girls but they don’t age well at all. Turn into mama-sans by age 35. And the frickin bugs are still there.

Semper Fi!
