Christmas has a lot more activities going on than Easter. Church's competition during Easter are candy and egg-hunts. The Easter Bunny gets old before adolescence (unless you're a fatty) so the only meaning remaining is the religious aspect. Christmas, on the other hand scales with age and way of life.
You'll know Easter has become a top tier holiday when you start seeing luxury SUV commercials with Easter music; and when Easter specific music comes into existence.
In my experience, last time I went to church, for anything besides a wedding or funeral, was Easter.
