Might be what they call smell melons or buffalo gourds, they grow wild in the ditches of sugar cane fields, I used to pick them all the time when I was younger dove hunting we would throw them up and shoot em like skeet lol. I have heard that you can graft a cucumber plant on that vine and it will grow cucumbers .
