Because they have all the eyeballs at 2:30. No other SEC games are shown during that time slot. If ESPN chooses to show the “big” game at night, they may choose to run all other SEC games at 11 and 2:30 to maximize eyeballs on the prime time slot. That’s why I don’t think people are going to like this as much as they think.

Exactly careful what you wish for.

If the big matchup is moved to 7:00 pm, then the network won't want other big games competing for ratings. so now the top SEC game will get the 6-7 pm slot and the 2nd and 3rd games will get 11 and 2:30 instead so just as many 230 starts if not more.

Also remember ESPN already shows most games, so you will be competeing with even more games for the primetime slot at night.

I foresee alot more butthurt coming than because muh nightgames
