There's been some donut talk on here, recently.

Me? I'm an apple fritter guy. And, to be honest, I haven't had one recently that beats Mary Lee's. Not that it's just crazy good. I basically only had Mr. Ronnie's to compare it to. That was just a massive pile of icing and no apples and cinnamon. Loved their hot glazed, but definitely disappointed in the fritter. Oh, well. RIP...

So, can anyone recommend a good fritter that I'm missing out on?

Hate me if you must.

Walmart bakery/deli department $0.57 each. Buy several if they have them.

Duncan Donuts in Florida. Not sure about what they have around here.

There's nothing wrong with a Mary Lee apple fritter.

Mary Lee's fritter is the best I've ever had. It is huge too! I used to get it and eat half for breakfast.

I’ve always enjoyed the fried fritters at the Perkins Road (near college and lee) Mary Lee’s. I don’t know why, but they seem to consistently turn out better than their other locations, which tend to have dry “burnt” ends. Highly recommended.
