I say this with as much humility and respect toward all of LSU's opponents and potential opponents as I can: I don't care if you game plan solely for LSU, for an entire year. There is no plan that is going to stop LSU. LSU has tremendous individual players at EVERY skill position on offense. And our running back excels at both running AND receiving.
Who do you game plan to take away? Do you sell out on stopping the run, or play back and try to take away some of the passing lanes? No matter what you decide to do, LSU has an answer that will beat any defense you try to play.
I keep hearing "I bet they'll try to do what Auburn did". With all due respect, what, exactly, DID Auburn do? Do they have a secret "make LSU shoot themselves in the foot" package? Because that's all that kept LSU from putting up another 40 point game in that one. LSU had over 500 yards... And it was a wet field on top of that.
So, case in point, the only thing you can TRY to do is just play LSU straight up, and hope your athletes can match up with LSU's athletes and win those battles. And, I'm sorry, LSU just has too many great players to realistically expect that any defense can contain all of those players. If LSU doesn't beat themselves with penalties and turnovers, they are going to score at least 35. And if the defense plays as well as I expect they will against a one dimensional offense with an un-athletic QB, then It'll be more like 45, because UGA's defense will wear down.
