Maybe not in the next 50 years but it will eventually happen one way or the other. Nothing lasts forever and the United States of America will eventually cease to be no more.
And when we do eventually balkanize, we will be happier and more focused on our communities than ever before. Large global entities are not and will never be sources of happiness. Small nation-states is where it's at.

I can’t disagree with that nor do I believe the Founders really thought we would end up as large as we are currently.
