This is a total of all four games broken down to a per game average. Both played at Vandy. LSU played at home against Fla, Aub and TAMU. Ga played Fla at Jacksonville but they were the designated home team, at Aub and home for TAMU. They played them all in the same order Vandy, Fla, Aub and TAMU. Also, they both played each team within a 14 to 22 day period. These are offensive/defensive stats only. Besides Vandy scoring 2 defensive scores against LSU, there were no other defensive or special teams scores for/against in any other game. That surprised me.

Note: In parenthesis, I back out Vandy's stats to give a better gauge of strength of teams. Plus, I think we can all agree neither Ga or LSU played this game at the level they played the other 3. I think you will be surprised how close the defensive stats are when you compare just those 3 teams.

Total offensive yds / differential
LSU 530.0 ( 513,6 ) +188.8 ( +219.0 )
-Ga. 341.2 ( 294.6 )

Total Def yds allowed / differential
LSU 301.5 ( 287.0 )
-Ga. 265.2 ( 280.2 ) -36.3 ( -6.8 )

offensive
Total pts scored / differential
LSU 45.25 ( 38.3 ) +21,75 ( 17.0 )
-Ga. 23.5 ( 21.3 )

Defensive
Total pts allowed / differential
LSU 19.75 ( 18.3 )
-Ga. 12.50 ( 14.6 ) -7.25 ( -3.7 )

With the healthiest Tiger team we've had in a while(especially at D) and a banged up Ga offense, this game might be over early 2nd half.

38-16 Tigers put this one away mid 3rd qtr.

Generally, I’d be surprised. But this stat has popped up and a TON of threads, both unrelated and directly for this. Thanks for the work. Geaux tigers. This should be a tiger win — but I’m going to say by 10. Never in doubt, but by 10.

UGA can not play with LSU. LSU will eventually pull away and win by 20 points.

Agree with your prediction. When you look at the offenses UGA has face thus far, the overall defensive rankings makes sense. The average total offensive ranking of UGA's opponents this season is 85th nationally, while LSU's opponents' average total offense ranks 68th nationally. That's not insignificant. Also, the best offenses LSU's faced rank 7th (Bama), 15th (Texas), and 31st (Ole Miss) nationally. Compare that to rankings in total offense of the best offensive teams Georgia has played this season: Arkansas State (44th), Notre Dame (47th), Auburn (53rd), and Florida (54th).

Good read! Stats don't lie. I enjoy looking up stats. It gives you a better understanding about teams and who they really are.
