I got married the weekend after the SEC Championship in 1998. Keep in mind that LSU did not go to Atlanta until 2001. We were married on this date because we didn’t want to inconvenience family and friends just in case we went to Atlanta. Your friend is pretty selfish.

I was getting ready to find some tickets for my daughter and myself last week when she texted me and said her high school basketball coach had pencilled in a tournament for SEC championship weekend.
So instead of watching LSU trash Georgia with my daughter in Atlanta, I will be rushing home from Pontotoc MS to tune in in progress.
