These school lunches (rather they be great or not), are alot of times the ONLY meal of any type they get all day.

So, we're supposed to provide a lunch an pretend there is not a bigger issue here? Children should be left in the care of a "lazy momma" who is already getting assistance to pay for food but who simply won't feed their kid?

So we take the kid away from the lazy mom.

Great.

Then what? Where does the kid go? Foster care? Yeah, cause we do such a bang up job of that in this country.

We've had generations of this problem. These people aren't just going to wake up and decide to start taking care of their kids.

We have to play the long game and support the kids directly as much as we can. Maybe 2 times out of 10, the kid will turn out to be a good, smart kid, and can stop the cycle in that family.
