Man for 6 that budget and feeling safe are going to be tough. Maybe a fractional/shared ownership type deal on a nicer plane. Most planes sit an incredible amount of time. The down side to the shared ownership is everyone wants the damn plane at the same time.
If I HAD to buy something under $500k that seats 6 maybe an older Cessna 421 or 414 in really good shape with low hours. The problem is that is a really low price point for an aircraft able to haul that number of people with any level of comfort.
