Rewatched the first half of the Bama game and the defense played well but also made so many mistakes. Out of position, bad reads, blown coverages. And we were still up 33-13 at the half. The world will be in shock when LSU starts firing on all cylinders. I can’t wait.

You really think they haven’t been doing this at any point this season? I mean, they scored 46 points in Tuscaloosa. How is that not firing on all cylinders? They also have a QB that has thrown for 4,000 yards a RB at 1,000 yards and 2 WR at 1,000 yards. First time in SEC history that has happened.

Offensively yes. Defensively and on spc teams no. I’m not criticizing. Just marveling at how good we are despite the mistakes.

LSU's defense is what it is. It can be great at times and flat-out poor at other times for whatever reasons.

However, LSU's offense is incredible. The game against Florida was basically perfect execution (or as perfect as you will ever see a team execute). 87.5% completion percentage (highest UF has given up in program history) and 10+ yards per carry. The Bama execution was pretty phenomenal too.

Blown coverages is the #1 problem for the defense and won’t remain so forever.

Last nights game had great execution for 3 quarters. The stats show the Tigers ran 48 plays and scored 56 points off those 48 plays

nce we get back to RB screens we will be unstoppable

we ran a bunch against GSU then sandbagged

we rolled dice with letting burrow handle all blitzes with quick hot reads in man coverage.

past time to bring them back

we sandbagged the zone read all year for bama and it worked bigtime the one time joe pulled out after DE crashed down on the dive fake(since we ran those dives all game)

he was great using the QB draw and then drawing safetey up and then faking QB draw and throwing off that,

we have just kately finally implemented the seam routes to moss. we just finally strated tossing post routes. most our deep stuff was gos and fades outside numbers all year. now we are using deep middle and hashes.

we did well against OM with horizontal stretch quick passes. still need more runs outside tackles but if we get back to traditional RB screens we just may be unstoppable. we have done well with WR tunnel screens. we have mixed all that up well with also using middle of field all year with digs and crosses and drags

JB9 wants a perfect game; no sacks, no fumbles, no incompletions, no negative yards, no INT's, no turnovers. We have not seen what the offense is capable of until we see this.

We've been held idle or scoreless for quarters or more a few games. Auburn comes to mind, bama too. Did UF silence or nearly silence the offense for the second or third Q too?

Our D has played lights out a few quarters but never an entire game. The D is different this year though. They do not have to play lights out for the entire game like we are accustomed to wanting. With this offense, against a good team, we just need to make sure we stop them a few times. The D is on the field a lot when the O is on and off in 2 minutes or less. We've seen that in recent years but with the offense often going 3 and out instead of scoring in around say 5 plays.

Our special teams hasnt really played to potential at all. Look at who could be scoring CEH22, DSJ24, etc. Nothing but crickets. I keep telling myself they're holding out for postseason.

There has not been one game where all 3 were ON all game. And we are UNDEFEATED

so to answer Op question, yes we could do even more damage on both sides of ball. we easily shoulda hung 60 at bama.

once we incoporate all the things in 1 game i laid out above we will be UNSTOPPABLE

LSU has played 11 games. What makes you think the blown coverages will stop if they haven’t already? Are they going to get some great coaching they haven’t already supposedly received?

Some of you people need to watch this stuff with your eyes and not your hearts.

Game experience, guys getting healthier, the backups getting better. What makes you think blown coverages won’t get fixed? Teams can get better as the season progresses. See our running game.

You're oh so right. They are very young. Get that defense in order then they would be unstoppable for 60 minutes. With this weak defense they will run into serious problems with ball control teams that will keep it away.

I’ve never seen an offense execute at such a level against a top level defense as LSU did against Florida this year. If the D had gotten a couple more stops, we would have easily scored 60. We scored 42 points on 48 plays! That was remarkable.

What if we win the next 4 games without the D ever firing on all cylinders?
