It’s supposed to be a quick pass, so the idea is to cut the defender at the knees so he can’t bat the ball down at the LOS

It’s on the QB to have a quick clock and know that the pressure is coming after a few seconds

Every Oline, good or bad, does this on some level. It’s a basic function of Oline play.
