Things have changed quickly. I'm sure Alabama is very motivated to maintain its status.
And, if it can make the playoffs and knock off Clemson or LSU (even if it doesn't win the championship), I think it would have accomplished enough to quiet the masses.
But, make no mistake, there is a lot on the line.

I do not agree with this as it would be two years running with no championship. No SEC championship too boot.
