Thanks man. Yeah I have a slight interest in it. His agency is out of state so I couldn’t necessarily work for him. The thing that turned me off is he said the first year I would be making about 35k. I would have to sell my house. I really don’t want to sell
My house because I got a steal in an area that is booming.
Plenty captive agencies (State Farm, Allstate, Shelter, etc.) offer agent training/agent aspirant programs to new hires. This is where a new hire learns the ropes while selling products to customers. There are set levels to achieve over time and after a certain point you get placed into their pool of potential agents. If selected, you get your own agency. Or you could go independent and open your own agency selling for multiple carriers.
Either option is a lot of hard work but in different ways. It's not for the weak-minded and those who would rush through things to just get to be able to play golf during the week. You have to work at it and you have to work hard.

Thanks man. Yeah I think I’m going to go ahead and get my insurance license. I have been thinking about it for a while.
