They're talking about patients actually being racist or sexist to the staff.

Would seem to violate medical ethics code to deny care to someone for being rude.

This patient wasn't being sexist. They were being smart:

If I'm a woman and you send in a obviously male nurse and it makes me uncomfortable, darn right I'm asking for a female. I don't care what it identifies as.

Interesting enough the people pushing this are the same ones calling healthcare a right. How can a right be denied? Talk about bait and switch.
