Any folks doing long term stays in Saudi?

Sounds like I'll be in the kingdom for 6 to 8 weeks at the beginning of the year, and not really looking forward to it. More than likely staying at a compound, but just looking for general tips for staying above ground. (I worry way more about international travel than I should)

I wouldn’t call that long term. You won’t even know you’re there when you’re on the compound.
If you leave, mind your own business and for the most part people will leave you alone. Dress down and don’t stare. You’ll see some weird shite.
Most of my time was spent working, but if you get a break you can explore. Take the opportunity to go to Dubai and visit the Burj.

It’s weird and you’ll learn just how low your place is if you interact with them much. It’s humbling. Other than that it’s what you make of it.

Don’t frick up or allow them to gain any leverage on you. Best case scenario they kill you worst case scenario they imprison you for life.

That aint happening outside the compound and there are few single women inside.
Most romance is on the rental basis across the causeway for single expats.
