Because it’s embarrassing to actually tell people that. Family members or close friends even, not to mention millions of media and CFB fans.

If it’s depression, I feel for Divinity and truly hope he gets the help he needs. It’s literally the toughest thing I’ve ever had to deal with personally - worst of all is you know it’s irrational and want to make it better, but just cannot. And you’re ashamed of this and further blame yourself, so it’s all a vicious circle.

Divinity will always be a Tiger and I’m not gonna knock the guy if he’s battling demons. That’ll be amped up with all the exposure the team gets this season and especially this week. Maybe he realized this and didn’t want to be a detriment to the team knowing he wasn’t capable of being the great player and leader we know he can be. If so, this is the right call.

The truth is we just don’t know the full extent of this and he owes us nothing to lay his personal life out for all to see. I sure as shite didn’t nor wouldn’t.
