Too many of you are posting hypothetical questions about us losing to the gumps...

Why? Do you not have any confidence in our team? They have looked like the strongest team this year.
8 straight loses has made you all almost accept defeat. Why? 2012-2018 teams are not playing this game. 2019 teams are. Can you pessimistic people not agree that we have looked like the better, more dominant team this year?
We may very well lose this game, but trying to figure out how we can sneak into the playoffs with a loss shows that you are battered. We should be asking questions, and some have, such as how bad to we have to beat them where they cannot sneak in. have some confidence in our young men. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

LSU and Bama look very similar this year. The biggest difference in this game is that one team is battle tested with wins over some tough teams while the other hasn't beaten anyone better than A&M.
I like our chances.

That's what I'm saying.
We arguably have the better team on paper so more topics need to be about what's going to happen when we win.

It’s been so long, I just can’t imagine LSU beating bama. They just seem to have our number every year. I’ve been confident before in Tiger Stadium only to see LSU score zero points the last two times. I just have to see LSU prove that they can hang with Bama to believe it.

I'm the opposite. From what I've seen I don't know how Bama beats LSU.
It could happen. I just think more game scripts favor LSU.
LSU's been the better team this season. That wasn't the case for the past few years.

I don’t really know how you can say that. Bama’s a mystery if anything. They’ve blown out every team they’ve played.
Also, we’ve seen LSU play down to the wire with 3 teams this year. Bama is at least as good or better than those 3 teams. So, I think you should be able to see how Bama could beat LSU, especially in Tuscaloosa.

I'll just repost what I posted in another topic.

I've always been of the belief that LSU will never beat Alabama while Nick Saban is head coach. That dude has done something to get into the heads of LSU. There is zero reason for LSUs performances against Alabama. We play the same teams every year in the West and even the worst teams move the ball better against Alabama than LSU does. Teams that LSU pounds. Even FCS teams put up a better fight against them than LSU does. It's absolutely, 100% mental.
Mental and offensive scheme.
That's the one thing that gives me hope. The offensive scheme has been absolutely horrendous whether it was less miles or Steve Ensminger. The only offense that ever looked competent was Matt Canada's because he's stretched the field sideline to sideline, used misdirection and gave them a bunch of eye candy. Besides that, you have to go all the way back to Jimbo Fisher and Gary Crowtons first year as OC to find a good offensive performance.
If it doesn't happen this year with this offense, everybody just needs to forget about the Alabama game every year and wait until Nick Saban retires. And by "happen" I mean actually put up a competent looking offensive performance. I'm not even talking about winning the game. That's a whole nother hurdle that includes a stellar defensive effort and the refs to call the game square.

This.
I don't think anybody really knows anything about this matchup. Alabama hasn't been tested and LSU has but has played a bunch of close games against those teams and I think we can assume that those teams aren't as good as Alabama.
But the offensive play-calling has also looked different in those games for LSU. I'm thinking they had more of the Playbook open early in the season just to see if they could run it and then they put it away and they're saving it to the Alabama game. And no, I'm not a 'secret Playbook' guy but given this series history, it's probably smart to save a few wrinkles for Alabama.

I really wouldn't know if Alabama is better due to their SOS. But that never seems to matter for them, that's why they avoid good teams. But watching our offense go into a shell last week was a repeat of the last 10 years, not progress.

That is a horrible attitude to have. You are defeated already. That is no way to go into this game. I am betting you are a ray of sunshine for many things. Cheer up mate. we are going to win this game. Tigers of Destiny.

I base it on the fact that two of those close games were vs defenses that were higher ranked than Bama's defense is now.
I don't see how they stop this offense. We could lose in a shootout but I don't see Bama slowing this offense down like Auburn and Florida did.
