Everyone gets soo offended everything nowdays, but name one reason?? For me imo...Its amazing to me, how I would tell a parent how thier child misbehaves in class and they get offend by it and act like thier child is a saint...
While Coachchappy is right for most political and general life things, there are particular circumstances in which someone should use more tact.
quote:
adroitness and sensitivity in dealing with others or with difficult issues.
You can't live life having thin-skin. Its always best to expect the worse but hope the for the best. That said, if I know someone has been to jail, but they are doing the best they can to rebuild their lives, I'm not going to make an off-hand joke just for a cheap laugh. If someone spread lies that your loved ones were criminals and tried to ruin their reputation, would you not take some offense?
There is a difference between being sensitive and being aware of your environment and the people around you. The oversensitive political environment was probably started with good intentions but inevitably went too far. Its understandable how a more harsh response could arise from that.
Personally, I recognize different people have different interests and motivations. What's important to me is less important to others and vice versa. I dont mind trying to look at someone else's POV and create my own conclusion. But, as Coach explains, I know that most people aren't going to be like that. So I adjust accordingly.
TlDR Nobody should be easily offended by anything. But there are certain things that are more understandable than others.
