White Perch as they are known in the north, used the be really good in D’arbonne. My grandfather used be a master there and black lake but then we bought on the newly created lake Claiborne which is where I caught most of white perch. Although I used to catch a bunch of them around Franklinton in deep hole off the Bogue Chitto too.
They are basically like bream and they are typically found in big schools in deep holes and edges of drop offs. They are not easy to find and would be last thing I would fish for if you can’t get any intel. So best bet is to find someone bait shop or someone who can help you out.
You can cast white marabou jigs on a beatle spin or something you can cast to find them but the go to bait used to be shiners deep. Careful setting hooks too you can rip it right out of their months. Big cold front hitting so they should be deep and bunched together.
Just look for school of fish probably all below 10-15 feet in 20-30 feet on ledge or hole etc.
You can jig for them too, it was always too Woody where I fished to do this.

Thanks for the tips. I wish I had a depth/fish finder that would help big time. Probably will just stick with the bridges and cypress trees
