Calipari? Is that some kind of joke?
He’s gone to 4 Final Fours with 3 different teams.
Anybody who would argue Smith is a better coach than Calipari is a clown. I know that NCAA issues have plagued Calipari, but still.

Cal has a better winning W/L% (.780) over K (.767)
Cal stats are
Career Record (major schools): 27 Years, 750-211, .780 W-L%
Schools: Massachusetts (193-71), Memphis (252-69) and Kentucky (305-71)
Conference Champion: 17 Times (Reg. Seas.), 15 Times (Tourn.)
NCAA Tournament: 20 Years (56-19), 6 Final Fours, 1 Championship
NCAA Champion: 2012

I would say Cal is far from underperforming.
