As a Libertarian, I support a parent's right to raise their children in whatever manner they see fit. However, that's not what is happening here. In this case, we have the judicial prejudice against men in play. The father is being ignored in this case due to the prejudice inherent in our judicial custody system (women are mothers and men are providers). If the roles were reversed, there's no way the mother's right to raise the child would have been impeded. Men DO NOT get equal treatment in the court system. This extends to abortion rights and child support. In an age where women are raising hell about changing gender roles (equal pay, etc, etc), they sure seem bent on keeping the good parts of gender inequality.....
