I think they'll both argue that the evidence was obtained illegally and that there were chain of custody issues. I presume that Livingston Parish Sheriff and the State Police are solid on all of this.
If they're not, they'll probably offer one a deal of maybe 20 years to testify against the other. Likely offer her to testify against him.

No chance. NCMEC intercepted some uploads, grabbed the IP, gave it to LBI, warrant for the house obtained, slew of evidence acquired. They could toss out 98% of what they have and those 2 will still get the max.

Pretty hard to argue that it was obtained illegally bud.
It was caught on scans of Apple's backup service. A third party organization that is allowed access to, I would imagine perform image scans of the backups of all apple clients.
Sadly, his "content" wasn't his data and he didn't own it.
Thankfully when we finally get better litigation on data transfer, this jackass lawyer talk concerning ownership of data concerning criminal defense will be a thing of the past.
