Anything involving a juvenile in the preliminary stages will absolutely be a closed hearing. When and if it goes to trial, everyone outside of the lawyers, staff, the child protection professional(s) and investigators will be removed from the courtroom if a juvenile is testifying to avoid coaching or cues from others. Other than the accused. And the judge will or should be watching like a hawk to avoid subtle clues from the accused.
