I used to use spike, but now the only golf shoes I have are spikeless - FJ Flex. They are so comfortable. I don't notice that big of a difference with them in my swing. I haven't slipped, but if it was raining or really wet - I might would want some spiked soles.
I went last week during Cart Path Only time because the ground was soaked and I did not have any issues with traction. But I guess it might depend on your swing. I also like the ability to just wear them out of the house and not worry if I have to run by the store or whatever on the way.

Try a round wearing regular tennis shoes. They are better than that, but its pretty similar. If you are slipping a lot in tennis shoes, I would probably stick to spikes

Side note: The FJ Flex is comfy, but the opposite of water proof so walking on wet courses is not great.
