Either they’re confident enough with his practice performance to do this

Or they really just don’t care about developing him in game situations

The ONLY reason Brennan subs into play is to make sure Burrow doesnt get hurt. This is done at every level of football and backup qbs never run the same offense as the starter.

The first reason being that coaches focus on this year and wont care about next year until next year.

The second reason being why add fuel to the fire for the next time you play your current opponent?

Virtually every coach in history does/did this. Who knew you and the OP would unlock this secret and revolutionize garbage time.
