FIFY
Some players just start slow, it is what it is. He's started slow every season through the first 4 games or so. We may just have to get used to it.

i think it shows a motivation issue. These type of issues are worrisome when they are wanting elite monies. MT is born to compete. Is ML?

Perhaps, however it will also give the Saints FO a little ammo at the negotiating table. Maybe several million dollars less on his second contract will light a fire under his arse during the offseason.

Cornerback is arguably the most difficult position to play especially for man coverage. I think it makes sense that it takes a but for him to get in a groove at the beginning of each season.

Do we though? 4 games is 1/4 of the regular season, will he take 3/4 of a Josh Norman contract (amounts to around 11M a year)? I don't think so.

I agree 100% here. Only guys I would want to keep long-term are the workhorses that show up to camp ready to go. Ryan Ramczyk and Alvin Kamara are much better big-dollar targets on the roster right now, IMO.

Oh, I agree. But when he is on he's a force. Will he deserve top CB $$$? Nope, not unless he gets that shite worked out. Which could help the Saints with all of the other contracts that will be due soon.
It's vital we lock up Ram and AK, MW also has a contract coming up, DD will need something long term.
Saints FO will have some work to do on the roster to keep it within the cap, might have to make some tough decision over the next couple of seasons.

Marcus Williams staying has more to do with him than it will the Saints, but I don't see him making a huge splash in the cash pond.
Biggest issue with keeping all these guys is you will have to find a QB in the draft, you are going to be extremely limited on what you can afford in free agency. Going to be interesting to see how much of the draft we have to ransom to get the next guy there.
