It's not a bad plan vs inferior competition. You can't play soft the entire game every game and expect to win though.
He doesn't do it the entire game. He does it for MOST of the game.

I think we have to accept that our secondary has a couple of dudes who are highly suspect and that blitzes leave them even more suspect.

Also. That good teams eventually figure out your blitzes as a game progresses. They have coaches too ya know.

So, he has, in EVERY game, chosen to selectively come at you and try to create that one or two drive point space in the 2nd half.

I expect to see this for the rest of the season. And, it will drive me batty...……..but, it ain't no accident.

This isn’t a binary problem. There are a lot of ways to play defense without blitzing that don’t involve dropping 7-8 guys in zone coverage and telegraphing that to the opposing QB ahead of time.

I don't. I think you'll see a better mix of aggressiveness thrown in. We aren't going to sit back and let Tua tear us apart

Maybe but giving the QB all day to throw and forcing the suspect DBs to stay in coverage longer does not help them.

Again I understand that this is the plan but it seems like a bad plan. Especially with our explosive offense

Bring pressure, force mistakes and turnovers, give our O more opportunities.

Yes it risks a few big plays but we finally have an offense that can overcome that.

I hate to obsess over Bama, but that’s the only team on our schedule that I think can beat us. And this defensive philosophy plays right into what they do best
