Pollack gets a lot of grief here but at least he doesn’t pussy-foot around the issues. He has an opinion and he goes with it. From a recent article I read:

quote:

Allow us to enumerate:

quote:

During a forum on Houston quarterback D’Eriq King’s unprecedented redshirt maneuver, Des, Herbie and even Rece Davis put an equivocating spin on things with one or two even noting that they’d spoken to Dana Holgorsen. It was left to Pollack to point out the short-sightedness of the dynamic, that in potentially returning King for an unblemished 2020 season Holgorsen may have fully lost the players he currently has. We don’t have the sound byte available, but the gist of Pollack’s argument is that Holgorsen has no shown his cards to his team: To paraphrase Orwell, some players are more equal than others. Good luck with that going forward.

quote:

The Michigan problem. Good for GameDay for tackling the “what’s wrong with Michigan?” issue but how did the roundup go from Howard to Herbie to Coach Corso (reminded us of an SNL Democratic debate sketch) before Pollack, speaking fourth, finally uttered the “H” word. “What about Jim Harbaugh?” Pollack asked aloud. When Herbie came back with the notion that the Wolverines “need some alphas” in the locker room, it was Pollack who reminded him that it’s the coach’s job, and he’s paid very handsomely to do so, to develop those alphas.

quote:

Finally, on a discussion about who’s in and out on the playoff, Coach Corso said, “Notre Dame has a good chance in the playoff.” That got a nod of approval from some on the panel, as they believed the Irish had acquitted themselves favorably in Athens one week earlier and they also, understandably, are highly deferential to any words Corso utters. Pollack, thankfully for us viewers, was not. “Let me tell you something,” he said. “Notre Dame is out.”
