Here is an "opposite" fact - most of us have heard our entire lives, "Days get shorter in the Winter, and longer in the Summer." Wrong. It's the opposite of that. The "longest" day of the year (meaning, the greatest amount of daylight hours, minutes and seconds in a 24-hour period) - is the first day of Summer. Therefore, every day of Summer is slightly "shorter" than the day before. And that is true until the first day of Winter - then the days start getting longer again.
i agree that whatever you said is "opposite of" fact.
the earth is tilted, man.
Summer has the longest day period, and more total daytime than winter lmao. where do you come up with this?

Honestly? Neil Degrasse Tyson.
But, it is true. The expression, "The days get longer in the Summer and shorter in the Winter" is - in fact, 180 degrees wrong.
The first day of Summer is the LONGEST day of the year. Therefore every single day of Summer is shorter than the day before. The first day of Winter is the SHORTEST day of the year. Therefore, every single day of Winter is longer than the day before.
The days actually get shorter in the Summer and longer in the Winter.
What are you having problems with? Because I can explain it again. Be warned though, it is going to sound an awful lot like what is in this post.
