From what I gather, a while back someone was responding to a thread topic that had already been disvcussed numerous times in other threads. He wanted to make a point and sarcastically posted something like "Yeah, and the germans bombed Pearl Harbor". Of course, it was the Japs. I think that took off and this is how it started. I think.

Based on a derivation of the following:
An old saying when someone said something that everyone knew was "Japan bombs Peal Harbor"
Then courtesy of the Belucci Animal House speech it evolved into "Germans bombed Pearl Harbor"
Now it's just "germans"

Tigerdroppings is not the only message board that uses "germans" and I highly doubt this is where it originated.
