Hooked in to a dinner's worth of white trout but got skunked the rest of the day. Probably covered 80 miles and not a whole lot.
Everyone at the launch said fishing's been bad down there and no one seemed sure why.

Sorry to hear about the bad trip. I don’t target trout much in September and early October. Trout are in transition or should be in transition to the inside marshes. We need a good cold front or two and it will get good.

We caught pretty good Saturday morning in the bay, but Sunday sucked.

Tommy Vidrine had an ice chest of hammers Saturday in Grand Ilse, he even released a 26 3/4" trout. That dude consistently outfishes guides. Live Pogies I think is what he was using.

We went out of fourchon and did pretty well. 60 trout ranging 12-17inches 3 reds and a couple black drum. Trout were everywhere we stopped. They were biting still at 12 but the birds stopped working. All plastics under corks. Beautiful morning.
