I figured most ppl know this....butter is a commodity. Only difference in those oblong sticks is the branding. I buy butter 3-5 lbs at a time for baking, and it’s whatever is cheapest. I’m not using it in recipes/baking where butterfat percentage is crucial (ie, croissants), so whatever is cheapest works for me.

My “eating” butter is usually a cultured European style block. Nothing finer than fresh bread and good butter, esp with flaky sea salt. If I lived where “gros sel” butter was readily available, I’d buy that.

Land O Lakes is bad butter, you may as well get any butter out there.

Shurfine at Macs is really good, much better

As bad as Land O Lakes regular is, their European is really good.

I do enjoy Kerrygold too. Just hot bread and a pat of butter.....so good

well said.

Having said all that the butter in Denmark was delicious. So much so I tried to bring a pound back with me and talked another guy on the trip with me into doing it.

fricking Denmark customs dumped my butter but a different guy let him keep his.

My guy defined it as a liquid over the oz limit and his guy defined it as a solid/food.

Stupid.
