This will be unpopular, but I see where critics are coming from. They lined up in a victory formation, and it is an unwritten rule to not blow that up.

I've seen fights over defenses hitting blockers in the victory formation. That's a bad spot for Houston. If they play normally and it's a kneel, they'll be looked at as a-holes. If it's a running play, they're off guard.

I get they are mad, but unwritten rules arent rules. I constantly hate on baseball for their stupid unwritten rules because they are dumb. This is a stupid unwritten rule as well.

They were tied. Why on earth would Tulane not try to win the game?

Not really directed at you rep520, just in general.

Considering the game was tied, calling it "victory formation" is slightly inaccurate in this case IMO.

"My opponent was trying to win the game, I wasn't ready because I stopped trying already" boo f'ing hoo.

Considering its a tie game, nobody would've faulted Houston defenders for playing normal if Tulane had actually taken a knee.

Victory formation fights happen when the offense is up by multiple scores and the game is essentially over, but frustrated defenders try to blow up the line anyway. Tie game all bets are off.
